  • What is Valour Place
    Valour Place is a temporary home away from home for all Canadian Forces members, Families of the Fallen, RCMPs, Veterans, and First Responders along with their families who are required to stay in Edmonton for medical treatment. The medical treatment can be for themselves or immediate family members.
  • What is the address of Valour Place?

  • What are your hours of operation?
    Our front desk is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. If arriving after those hours on a weekend please let us know to arrange after-hour arrival.
  • Do you provide transport to our appointments?
    While we do have a van we have had a difficult time securing volunteer drivers. Until we can secure drivers we are happy to assist in booking a taxi or Uber. Some of the healthcare facilities do provide shuttles.
  • Do you have internet and Wi-Fi?
    Yes, we have free Wi-Fi throughout the house and 3 desktop computers for guest use. Please make sure you ask for the password at check-in time.
  • Can I bring my pet?
    No, unfortunately, only service animals are allowed. Please make sure your booking form includes information about the service animal.
  • Do I need to bring towels, sheets, or a hair dryer?
    Towels & bedding are provided. Each room also has a hair dryer. Guests are responsible for washing their own bedding & towels during their stay but not at checkout.
  • Do we need to bring food?
    We provide some basics - milk, coffee, tea, cream, sugar, bread, butter, peanut butter, condiments, and spices. We have a pantry stocked with dry goods left by previous guests and by the Veterans Food Bank Association. There are also grocery stores nearby.
  • Are there things to do at Valour Place?
    Yes, we have several entertainment areas. In the basement, you will find an exercise area, a kid's playroom, a library, a crafts area, a games area (pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, air hockey, shuffleboard), and a family room with a big screen and video games and movies. Outside our backyard is fully fenced in with a small swing play park.
  • Is parking available?
    Yes, guests are provided with free parking while they stay at Valour Place.
  • Do you provide cribs or playpens?
    Unfortunately, we are not allowed to provide these items but we do have twin mattresses we make up for children's beds. Please feel free to bring your playpen to use.
  • Will I have my own bathroom?
    Yes, all bedrooms have a barrier-free bathroom with either a bathtub or walk-in shower.
  • Can I do laundry?
    Yes, we have a laundry area for house guests. We also provide all the items (soap, bleach, dryer sheet) needed to do laundry, so no need to bring your own.
  • Can I smoke or drink at Valour Place?
    Smoking is only permitted in the designated area in the backyard. Alcohol, cannabis, or drug use is not permitted on the property.
  • Is staying at Valour Place safe?
    Yes, it is. All-access points are locked at all times. It is only with a key FOB that someone can enter the building. Like all big cities, we suggest guests to ensure their vehicles are locked and to remove all valuables.
  • Can I leave and return anytime?
    You are free to come and go as you please during your stay with us. Whether you need to step out for a few hours or an entire day, you can rest assured that you can return to a safe and welcoming environment.
